So thats where it all began. In the photo above is the area in which the most extreme version of "freeride" mountain biking was born. Some will say, "no, it was in Canada" but I will have to disagree. However, Canadians have always dominated the discipline. The seeds for the rampage were planted in the late 90's and early 2000's. My wife came to southern Utah to work for the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) with a masters degree in landscape architecture and dragged me along. We weren't married then but soon would be.
